Anyone interested in the way we get our information, and the implications of one group controlling the majority of media in a city should read Dave Davies’ blog (with good continuing coverage here) and listen to him on yesterdays Radio Times. Long story short: Philadelphia Media Network, owners of both The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Daily News and Philly.com, muzzled their reporters to protect their business interests. This is not the first time this has happened and not the way newspapers should work.
