
OOOPS – Totally fell for this. Looks like the bellow listed Biennial site is a fake. Sotheby’s is still listed as a sponsorer at the bottom of the official Whitney website. So much for that. Whoever wrote the copy on the fake site did a great job.

Concurrently (or perhaps as a precursor) – “Arts and Labor group of the Occupy Wall Street movement has published a letter demanding an end to the biannual survey show in 2014″ according to Art Info – with one of the key concerns being the Sotheby’s lockout of union art handlers.
