From Megawords, one of our favorite publications:
“A solo exhibition created by Megawords magazine opens Friday, March 5th at Printed Matter in New York City. The show will offer an introduction to the entire project, including displays of all past issues, photos and work by Megawords and Megawords contributors, and other related ephemera and inspiration. In addition, a light and sound installation will be on view for the show’s opening.”

A while back we spent some time poking around the shore of the Delaware River. Behind Winzinger Recycling in Port Richmond we came across a surprising assortment of bricks stamped with names like “Big Savage”, “Alamo” and “Hayes Run”. The variety of manufacturers was astounding, and a sad reminder of the decline of industry in Philadelphia. What was that old motto? “Philadelphia – we make everything here”? Not anymore.

A whole lot more after the break.

I thought the use of spray paint on snow that I spotted on 17th St. was pretty damn creative, but the addition of the parking ticket on this sculptural gem (spotted on the interweb) trumps Rustoleum.

Orion Shepherd had these really nice paintings of Paul Wackers paintings in the HYPERSPACES show at Park Life in San Francisco last year. I can’t find a website for Shepherd, only the afore-linked blog, but I really like his work.

Photos of Star Wars in the real world (shot partially in Dubai) by Frenchman Cedric Delsaux. They make me very nerdy-happy.
A few of my favorites after the break.

Back in November I visited AJ Fosik’s studio to take some photos (for the second time- photos from the first visit are here). I don’t remember why I didn’t post them.
A (very) few more after the break.

From the past week in Philadelphia.

More after the break, along with one poor Volvo that parked in the wrong corner of the lot.

A friend found this love letter from the “Juggernaut” a self described Prince look-alike in prison who is into doing “yoga, writing novels, writing music, math, (and) eating right)” to a girl he has never met. It is really one of the funniest things I have ever read. Here’s a sample “After drinking in your natural beauty, your grand design sent me on internal pilgrimage to bring forth the all of me and the best of me, to fulfill a deep desire to become connected with you in some way. Rediscovering my deepest need to become one soul by combining my soul with the transcendent soul of an angel.” The actual letter after the jump

I have always been a Coke over Pepsi type of dude, but I tried this Throwback Pepsi and it is sooo good. Instead of corn syrup they use sugar, a crazy concept I know. The Throwback Mountain Dew is better then plain Mountain Dew but still tastes like Mountain Dew, the packaging is dope though can’t beat a cowboy with some moonshine as your mascot.

Letter Cult has a huge set of custom type that was nominated for there best of 2009 awards. While their winners are here, my favorites are after the jump.

Spotted on 17th Street.
Medium: Rustoleum on 28.5 inches of snow.
Two more photos of this piece of genius / waste of a parking spot after the break.
